Through collaboration with neighborhood groups, social service, municipal and government agencies, DCH strives to generate cooperative revitalization of city blocks, roadsides, parks and open spaces. Our Community Gardens, Public Landscapes and Tree Programs go far beyond the physical improvement of air, water and beautiful places. Research has shown green enhancements not only yield universally more desirable and livable urban spaces, but also fewer health problems, less aggression and violence, reduction in crime and higher property values, as well as stimulated social and economic activity in the neighborhood. More important than the use of the space itself is the cooperation generated among residents to keep their community a safer and more attractive place.
