| DCH believes investments in environmentally sound improvements enrich the economic, psychological, and physical well-being of the urban environment. Local partnerships such as the Plants for a Livable Delaware initiative with the University of Delaware, Delaware Nature Society, Delaware Landscape and Nursery Association, and the Delaware Department of Agriculture or the Enhancing Highways project with the Delaware Department of Transportation provide a powerful synergy to advance ideas in our landscapes. DCH has formed a separate planning and design service, Regional Landscape Enhancement, with the assistance of UD Extension Specialist Dr. Susan Barton and garden consultant Rick Darke to address challenging public landscapes with ecologically sound approaches. |
