Delaware Center for Horticulture, Wilmington Beautification Commission and Friends of Kosciuszko Park Plan Community Planting Day

The Delaware Center for Horticulture and the Wilmington Beautification Commission will join the Friends of Kosciuszko Park for a Community Planting Day on Saturday, April 21 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Kosciuszko Park on South Broom Street in Wilmington, Delaware.  A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

The Community Planting Day is part of the Wilmington Beautification Commission-supported revitalization plan for the park and includes support from the Delaware Center for Horticulture, the City of Wilmington Parks and Recreation Department and the City’s Hedgeville community.  Prior to the community event, small trees and shrugs will be planted at three entrances to the park.  During the event, community volunteers will plant perennials and create colorful, welcoming gateways.

For more information about Kosciuszko Park Community Planting Day, contact Jen Bruhler, DCH Community Outreach Coordinator, at (302) 658-6262 ext. 107 or jbruhler@dehort.org.
