2007 Help for the Home Gardener Lecture Series Begins January 25 at Delaware Center for Horticulture

Explore a variety of gardening topics at the 2007 Help for the Home Gardener lecture series beginning Tuesday, January 25th at 7 p.m. at the Delaware Center for Horticulture. The cost is $10 per lecture or $40 for the series of 5 lectures for DCH members and $15 per lecture or $60 for the series for non-members. Call (302) 658-6262, ext. 22 to reserve your place or visit the Center’s website at www.dehort.org for an event registration form.

David Culp, world-traveled plant collector and breeder, kicks off the series with a presentation titled “A Sense of Place,” sponsored by J. Franklin Styer Nurseries.  Culp will give a virtual tour of his home garden, Brandywine Cottage.  He’ll explain how he developed a 200-year-old farmhouse on a neglected site and the value of a garden that reflects its site.  Culp is also a nationally known lecturer and is an instructor in Longwood Gardens’ certificate program.
