Making a
Difference
In Delaware
DCH was founded by volunteers in 1977. To this day volunteers are essential to our operation and mission to cultivate a greener community; inspiring appreciation and improvement of our environment through horticulture, education, and conservation. DCH's volunteers are committed, energetic and talented people, involved in all aspects of the Center, from programming, to policy, to administration. Volunteers generously donate their skills, knowledge, experience and time. We simply could not deliver our services without our volunteer corps. We invite you to participate and share in our mission through volunteering. We offer many exciting opportunities and benefits.

In Their Own Words
"I look forward to volunteering each week to grow and nurture both friendships and plants. The warmth of the greenhouse and friends allows for the perfect environment to learn and share."
- Claire Hanavan
"As a volunteer searching for the unique features of plants destined for the Rare Plant Auction, is a great opportunity to learn more about plants and to explore the fine library resources at DCH."
- John Dietz
