Endowment Funds are investments in the future of DCH. DCH welcomes contributions to existing endowment funds, as well as the creation of new endowments in support of the institution and its programs. They are a permanent source of income that provides stability through economic ups and downs and also help secure future needs. When a gift is made to DCH's Endowment Funds, only the income generated may be spent, while the principal remains intact. Endowment funds are invested as part of DCH's Endowment portfolio, thereby enabling funds to realize a greater return on investment. Pledges for endowment support may be made over several years. Gifts may be allocated to any of these funds.

GARDEN FUND - A gift to this endowment fund will help ensure that the DCH Gardens remain vibrant.

GREENING ENDOWMENT FUND - Contributions to this fund provide essential operating support for community gardens, strengthening the fabric of urban communities in ways that genuinely help the residents build on their neighborhood’s assets.

WILMINGTON TREE FUND - Urban trees provide visual beauty and shade, reduce pollution, and improve real estate values. Established in 2003, this fund provides support to develop educational projects on the care, benefits, planting, and maintaining of trees, so that the trees planted today will be assured health for the environment and future generations.

INTERNSHIP FUND - The Internship Fund provides annual support for DCH to hire interns to assist with DCH’s Demonstration Gardens and the Greening Program. In addition to providing aspiring professionals with valuable knowledge and skills, this internship is an important component in keeping garden landscapes looking their best. Interns come from a variety of locations and backgrounds and include college, high school, and graduate students working towards careers in horticulture, agriculture, and education.

LECTURE FUND - Create a fund that supports a lecture in your name or that of a special family member or friend to help DCH bring outstanding, nationally-recognized speakers to the Delaware community.

BUILDING ENDOWMENT FUND - Gifts to this fund support DCH’s ongoing operation.
