FREE event!
Come to this one event and learn everything you need to know
about starting your own neighborhood tree project! We’ll teach
you how to plant inexpensive bare root trees as well as how to
find the money to pay for them!
The Delaware Urban & Community Forestry Council offers
annual cost-share grants to communities, civic associations and
neighborhood groups. Grants worth $5,000 are available for tree
management or tree plantings. Qualifying applications will be
required to raise matching funds either through in-kind
volunteer hours or through other grant sources.
This workshop will explain how to design an effective tree
project, how to generate support from neighbors and local
legislators, and most importantly, how to get the grant money to
fund your new street trees. Grant applications will be available
in April. Refreshments will be served.
For more information contact Annie Acton, (302) 658-6262,
ext. 106. Please register by March 19.
