The Wilmington City Gardens Contest, now in its 26th year, recognizes Wilmington gardeners for their contributions to a greener city. The Contest is administered by the Delaware Center for Horticulture, a non-profit greening organization, and is generously sponsored by DuPont.
The Contest is open to residents within the city limits of Wilmington. Those who would like to help support urban gardening are encouraged to serve as volunteer judges. The Contest also recognizes the Council District and the Civic or Neighborhood Association with the greatest number of entries, so get your neighbors involved! Awards are given for first, second, and third place as well as Honorable Mention and Director’s Award.
